ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION
The accommodation is an intimate, solar-powered holiday house designed for couples who love privacy, space and style. It's located in Marloth Park, a unique wildlife conservancy bordering Kruger National Park.
The property is set in natural bushland. The outside living area faces south and overlooks a lovely wooded glade crossed by a game trail used by antelopes, zebras & giraffes. Design inspiration is Bauhaus simplicity and minimalism, with a seamless transition between architecture and nature.
The accommodation is 120 square metres, with high 3-metre ceilings creating volume, space and abundant natural light. Construction is thick concrete, the roof is steel and the ceiling space is heavily insulated to provide cool comfort in the hot African summers while retaining overnight warmth in our brief and mild winters. It's also fully air-conditioned to keep you comfortable even in the occasional extremes.
The main living space features a fully-equipped kitchen, a reclaimed timber dining table and a comfortable, intimate lounge area. There’s a huge 4.5-metre glass wall leading to the patio area, and a spectacular 3.5-metre window seat/daybed with gorgeous bushland outlook and it’s roomy enough for a small child to sleep (that’s if you’re actually a couple-plus!).
The accommodation has one bedroom with king-size double bed, and a light-filled ensuite bathroom incorporating a large walk-in shower with its own bush views.
The covered, all-weather patio is elevated, with spectacular bushland panorama and no other structures visible: It’s just you, the African bush, and the passing animals & birdlife. It has a 4.5-metre plunge pool, a custom-made stainless steel hibachi grill, and a spacious outdoor seating area. The patio catches the morning sun for sunrise coffee or breakfast, but by midday it’s all bathed in cool, welcome shade.
THE GREATER KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Game viewing is available within the concession area. One also has the options to self-drive into Kruger National Park, for this one needs to pay the Kruger National Park Entrance fees.
Guests can enjoy speciality South African cuisine in the spacious restaurant, at a log fire boma private dinner or a have an extraordinary bush braai under the stars around a fire whilst being surrounded by the sounds of Africa.
There are also a wide range of activities that guests can experience such as sundowners, morning & afternoon game drives and bush walks which allow guests to see the smaller details of the Kruger National Park.
