ABOUT THE ACCOMMODATION
 
Just one hour and 20 minutes from Johannesburg. This stunning self catering property lies on 7 hectres of land with over 120m of prime private Vaal Dam waterfront.
 
The property is situated on a game farm with free roaming game around the property. The house sleeps 15 people with expansive waterfront views that makes this house the ideal getaway.
 
This eco friendly, off grid, striking architectural home has been designed for entertaining. When thinking of a word to best describe the house, "barefoot luxury" comes to mind.
 
The living room, kitchen and games room all open up with glass stacking doors on 2 sides to the expansive patio with majestic elevated views over the Vaal Dam. There are 5 bedroom suites in the main house which share 3.5 bathrooms and there is an additional outside en-suite guest suite. All rooms have full height glass doors that open onto the garden with unobstructed views over the Vaal Dam.
 
The house has a bar and games room that form part of the main entertainment space. A stunning boma, braai and pizza oven all sit adjacent to the stunning rim flow pool and large covered patio comfortably seating 14.
 
Guests have access to the entire property and exclusive use of the private waterfront.
 
IMPORTANT:
 
The property is on a farm and the last 5km are on dirt roads, generally the roads are in great condition but after excessive rains the roads do get very muddy and 4x4 access is advisable.
 
Please ensure all guests sign the indemnity form provided. The property is located within a security estate and the names of all guests as well as their registration numbers needs to be provided 24 hours prior to your arrival.
 
Power - The house is powered my means of solar panels and batteries. Please use electricity sparingly. Lengthy periods of bad weather do affect the power availability and for this a back up generator is available. 
 
The use of heaters is strictly prohibited.
 
Please note the house does not have a microwave due to the high power consumption.
 
Water - All the water is derived from a borehole on the property. The water has been tested and it is safe to drink, however it does have an earthy taste so bring your own bottled water if you are fussy about your water.
 
Ice Machine - There is an ice machine located at the bar. It needs to be manually filled with water and does produce ice slowly, so for large groups it is advisable to bring extra ice. We will have the ice machine full upon your arrival.
 
Smoking - Smoking is not allowed inside the house and must be done on the patio or in the garden. Please don’t leave stompies lying around, ash trays are provided.
 
Wi-Fi - Wi-Fi is free to all guests.
 
TV - A TV is available in the livingroom with a smart box with Netflix, Disney +, Prime and YouTube. The TV is also fitted with a Chromecast for streaming.
 
Music - The patio and livingroom have speakers fitted. The house is on a game farm so please don’t play music excessively loudly. There is an aux cable fitted to amp and guests are welcome to connect their devices to the amp.
 
Parties and extra visitors - Parties may not be hosted on the property. The house has a capacity of 15 people. The total number of guests may not exceed 15 without prior arrangement. This includes additional day visitors.
 
Firewood - Firewood is provided free to all guests. If guests use an excessively large quantity of wood guests will be charged for extra wood used. Please only use the wood provided at the fireplace for internal use as it is properly dried. Please do not use the briquets as these are for the owner's personal use.
 
Swimming Pool - The house has a swimming pool, and it is not fenced nor does it have a net. Guests use the swimming pool at their own risk and all children must be supervised around the pool at all times. We do not take any responsibility for any incidents that may occur.
 
Animals on the property - There are ducks, chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs on the property. Guests are welcome to visit them but please ensure all gates to the enclosure are closed upon exit and entry. Please do not chase of catch the animals. They will come to you if you take them treats and sit quietly.
 
The house doesn’t have any curtains to enhance the indoor outdoor feel of the home. The property is completely private as there are no nearby neighbors.
